Donald Sonn: Time Management Tips That Work

Since he opened his own business, Donald Sonn has come to understand the importance of being able to split his time between the service that he provides and the administration work that comes along with operating your own company. This has led him to make improvements in his time management skills using the following methods.

Create Schedules

You should aim to create a schedule that maps out all of the important tasks that you need to complete during the course of your work week, with time being dedicated to each one as needed. Of course, the nature of running a business may lead to changes in this schedule, so be sure to mark the tasks that need to take priority.

Consider Potential Interruptions

There are many things that can occur during the course of your working day that can disrupt the schedule that you have created and knock you off task. Unexpected meetings and emergency situations are just some of the potential scenarios that you might have to deal with, so it is important to consider these when creating a schedule and account for them wherever possible.

Reduce Distractions

While Donald Sonn recognizes that it is important to take the occasional break during the course of your working day, he is also quick to point out that repeated distractions can lead to very little work being done. Try to avoid social media for anything other than business purposes and consider placing your phone in silent mode if you have an important task that needs to be completed.
